About DaVita

DaVita is the global leader in kidney care and dialysis services. It’s a healthcare company noted for its quality and expertise in positive outcomes for patients diagnosed with diabetes and renal disease. DaVita is an American company that has been expanding to various geographies with populations that are at risk for developing chronic kidney disease. We were the first digital marketing agency for healthcare that was brought on board to assist their work.

Our Engagement

We became a healthcare marketing agency overnight when we were asked to help one of DaVita’s global operations. DaVita has expanded to several international markets over the last decade. We interfaced with the global leadership team based in Denver, CO to help them with digital growth efforts for their Indian division, which the company acquired through a strategic investment in 2011.

DaVita had never run any Facebook campaigns before and wasn’t sure how to effectively target a niche audience. Its challenge was to target an aging audience that might not even be on the platform. 

We were able to market to their middle-aged children and caretakers with the right messaging to ensure a high lead-generation and click-through-rate. We also targeted at-risk patients who were diabetics and pre-diabetics.

We achieved success with a series of brand exposure ads in the form of cheaper CPM videos. These ads were followed up with lead-generation form ads that allowed the back-end team to capture contact information which the inside-sales team would use to call each prospective customer.

We built an active presence on Facebook and LinkedIn, and helped DaVita establish a consistent brand voice. The goal was to establish trust by leveraging its global knowledge-base and decades of experience.

DaVita’s SEO foundations were a little shaky because of some back-linking activity that didn’t sit well with Google. We spent a month cleaning a few hundred of these links before aggressively revamping their healthcare marketing content strategy.

The company faced a lot of SEO-related competition from other companies that saturated the blogosphere with meaningless content. The website structure needed to be modified to suit the many national satellite centers across the country which could be found with local searches.

Furthermore, our healthcare marketing agency asked DaVita to produce authoritative content to help it compete.
